Thai Multi-Industry Collaboration Project
Thailand: The arrival of COVID-19 has caused all international trade fairs to be postponed. However the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand has created an opportunity for Thai brand to create something new for the market.
DITP brought together many Thai brands in various categories to use their synergies to create something new for the market.
DEESAWAT, Thailand’s leading designer furniture manufacturer was involved in two concepts in this project as follows:
398 TRIO
This is the collaboration involving DEESAWAT (furniture), BLACK SUGAR (fashion), and PASAYA (fabric material). The objective of this collaboration is to create the first FASHION furniture trend in the market. The three collaborators combined fashion trend into furniture to create a furniture centre-piece in the fashion magazine.

Material; Teakwood with upcycling fabric material (from recycle plastic pet bottle), and with the fabric technique from BLACK SUGAR
GIFTED HEART
The second project is between DEESAWAT and HEARTIST. HEARTIST is one of the Thai brands that devote themselves as a GIVER to the society. They adopt weaving as a therapist technique for gifted kids. Each yarn produced represents the emotions of the weaver during that time or period.
Nothing can be controlled…and they cannot be perfect. The concept of this piece is “Life does not need to be perfect, we can be unique in our own way”
With the specialist of DEESAWAT and unique fabric texture made each single unit a unique piece of furniture.

Material: teakwood and hand weaven fabric
